Joy Jaksha, dancer, choreographer, and instructor, has been dancing since the age of two. She began her dance journey observing her older sister in class. As soon as she was old enough, she became a dancer. She started competing at the age of six years old and by the time she was 12 years old she was choreographing her own solos and duets for competition. She began dancing with Miss Heather with Body Lab in 2018, was an intern her junior and senior years of highschool and had the honor of being “Miss Body Lab” those two years.
Joy has had the privilege of performing with Blue Lapis Light, Shepherd Allen’s Lost Boys, Ballet Arts of Austin and other esteemed companies. In addition she has had the opportunity to study with Roxanne Gage, Danny Herman, Rocker Verastique, Kristin Nicholiason, Sunny Shen, Kirsten Kemp and many other generous and amazing teachers and choreographers.
Currently, Joy is pursuing her associates degree in dance at Austin Community College and will be transferring to a four year dance program in Fall of 2026 to continue her studies for a BFA in dance. She is currently enjoying serving as the assistant director of Kick Lab and Kick Lab Elite, teaching classes at Body Lab, teaching private lessons, and choreographing solos, duos, and small groups.
