ABOUT US
Body Lab, founded by Heather O'Hara in 2016, is a leading dance training facility for individuals ranging in ages from 2-Adult. Heather, who has been instructing and training professionally for 28 years all over the United States, is a well-known performer with accolades such as performing as a Radio City Rockette, participating in a balancing act with Cirque Du Soleil, and choreographing aerial/dance shows for Celebrity Cruise line. She takes pride in providing well-rounded, strong technical training not only in dance but also in acrobatics and aerial arts.
Most of Body Lab's classes are training-focused, catering to individuals aged 12+, without any yearly recital or spring show. However, in Fall 2018, the younger-beginner classes started participating in an end-of-year Spring Show. The event includes guest performances by Body Lab's Performance Academy, Hip Hop Companies, Advanced Aerial Company, and Kick Company. Additionally, Body Lab recently collaborated with Lake Travis Jiu Jitsu Club, combining Heather's husband's martial arts business to offer a new adventure to the Lake Travis community.
Heather was the owner of Broadway Dance and Fitness, which closed in 2009. She has since been training aerial and choreographing for Celebrity Cruises cirque shows, schools, and studios all over the United States, as well as for O'Hara Dance Agency, a company she started with a few of her original dancers from Broadway. Heather is excited to bring all her experience in fitness, dance, and choreography to the members of Body Lab and LTJJC.
In August 2017, O'Hara Dance Agency transformed into Body Lab Performance Academy (BLPA) with 23 individual dancers aged 10-18. By 2022, this company had grown to over 85 members ranging in ages from 7-18 who compete in solos, duos, and trios. Additionally, Body Lab has expanded to include specialty companies such as Kick Lab, Velocity, Lab Ratz, and an Aerial Company that perform and compete in group routines around Texas. BLPA and guest dancers from LTMS Jazz Co, BCMS Raider Royalty, HBMS Pom, LTHS Red Rubies, LTHS Cavalettes, and JBHS Silver Stars performed in Body Lab's 5th Christmas Spectacular in December 2021 at Lake Travis High School, where they entertained over 500 audience members.
At Body Lab and LTJJC, there is something for everyone, with a diverse range of classes that cater to various skill levels and interests.
