SILKS Level I/II
Annie Mielke is an Aerial Dancer and Circus Artist with 15 years of experience. She has performed and taught Aerial Silks, Lyra, Sling, Trapeze, Rope and Spanish Web, as well as Duo Acrobalance and various styles of Invented Apparatus. She specializes in aerial choreography along with conditioning and flexibility training.
Annie began performing when she was six years old and discovered aerial circus arts at age 10. She trained for eight years with nationally recognized youth circus program Circus Juventas in St. Paul, Minnesota before moving to Tucson, Arizona to attend college. In Tucson, she performed with Flam Chen and Many Mouths One Stomach for four years as a lead aerialist and assistant choreographer and began teaching in 2012 with Tucson Circus Arts. She ran the circus pavilion at a summer camp in Northeastern Pennsylvania for two seasons and helped found The Circus Academy of Tucson in 2015, before relocating to Austin, Texas in 2016, where she now teaches with Blue Lapis Light.
Annie is also a Certified Yoga Instructor and has trained in multiple dance styles. She loves sharing her passion for aerial arts with students and audiences and is grateful for the many teachers and colleagues she has worked with over the years.
