Avery is 17 years old and will begin her senior year of high school this fall. She fell in love with dance at the mere age of two and started competing at the age of five under the instruction of Heather O'Hara. She has trained in numerous styles ranging from ballet and jazz to trapeze and statue, receiving numerous awards including judge's choice and scholarships on both regional and national levels. In addition to O'Hara Dance Agency, Avery is also a proud member of the Tremaine Performance Program, where she spends her weekends traveling around the States and training under prominent dance figures. Avery has been teaching private lessons for the past two years and loves sharing her passion for dance with other ambitious students.
She has also organized and conducted dance camps in Kenya since 2010 and spent 5 weeks in Uganda teaching dance to the children and workers at an HIV/AIDS orphanage last fall. Avery follows a homeschool curriculum, which allows her the flexibility to travel, focus on her passions and spend time with family. She remains an active participant of local clubs such as the Lake Travis National Honor Society and is a Younglife Student Leader. With a growing interest in health and fitness, Avery plans to pursue an education in Nutritional Science after high school and remain involved in the artistry of dance and aerial work.
